O Almighty and Eternal God, look favourably upon Christ, Eternal and Sovereign Priest, and through love of Him, have mercy on Your priests. O Most Merciful God, remember that they are weak and frail creatures.
Unceasingly rekindle in them the grace of their ordination. Keep them close to You, for fear that the enemy might prevail against them, and so they might not in any way tarnish the brightness of their sublime vocation.
O Jesus, I pray to You for Your faithful and fervent priests; for Your unfaithful and lukewarm priests; for the priests who work at saving our souls and for the missionaries in foreign countries; for Your priests besieged by temptation, boredom and affliction; for Your priests whether young or old, sick or dying; and finally, for the souls of Your priests in purgatory.
Above all, I recommend the priests who are dearest to me: the priest who baptized me; the priests who have absolved me of my sins; the priests whose Masses I have heard and who gave me Holy Communion; the priests who have taught me and who have sustained me by their help and encouragement; and lastly, for all the priests I am indebted to, especially…
